Port Townend, once again, proved its commitment to and love of the written word as over 100 people arrived to hear Frances McCue and Mary Randlett read from and discuss the creation of their book "The Car That Brought You Here Still Runs" , a book that followed the work of Richard Hugo by visiting the towns he wrote of in his poetry.

The afternoon began with the winners of the "Writers on the Road" essay contest. An appreciative crowd listened as first place winner, Richard Hefley, was joined by second place Leslie Wake and Sylvia Bowman, 3rd place winner.
A combination of reading, discussion of photography and simply sharing experiences the pair had while roaming the Northwest towns endowed with Hugo's poems.
