History of the Writers' Workshoppe & Imprint Books

Picture
Imprint Books has been serving Port Townsend, Jefferson County, and the many tourists who travel to the Victorian Seaport from all over the world for 46 years.

It took up occupancy in the ground floor of the John Siebenbaum Building - its current location at 820 Water Street - in 1981.

In 1983, Judy and David Hartman purchased the bookstore from Lindy Caine.

In 2008, Anna and Peter Quinn started the Writers' Workshoppe in the James & Hasting's Building. In late 2009, they moved the writing resource to 820 Water Street, renting a space above Imprint. In need of more room, Anna and Peter moved the Writers' Workshop to Taylor Street in mid-2011.

In February 2014, Anna and Peter bought Imprint Books from Judy and David and merged the Writers' Workshoppe with the bookstore, officially opening the Writers' Workshoppe & Imprint Books in March 2014.

Anna is the author of The Night Child and Peter is the author of the poetry collection, Painting Circles on Straight Highways.

In May 2019, wanting to focus more on writing, travel, and family, Anna and Peter decided to sell the Writers' Workshoppe & Imprint Books to their bookseller, Samantha Ladwig and her partner Thom Nienow.

Samantha and Thom became the latest owners on October 1st, 2019. Four days later, they got married. They're still recovering from all of the excitement.
